Dearest children
It is so good to know you are located and at home. Mary wrote they had a lovely visit with you. So happy you can see each other often. Thank you for the greetings. Marilee made me a delicious cake. We spent a quiet day. I turned back the pages of time and relived many events. I am grateful for my sainted parents and 3 brothers, a wonderful husband, nine grand and gifted children. Husbands and wives of my children and my darling grandchildren. All have enriched my life.
Marilee helped me clean closets and cupboards and put away winter blankets. I changed the sheets. Verlene is washing them now. She is an angel.
Johnette will be coming in a few days. Jesse will go on a mission. Ann and I wrote she will see us soon.
It gets lonesome when you are all away, but if you are all well and happy we should not fuss.
Thanks again for a lovely letter. Stay well, be happy.
Love

Mother
Note your trip. The old houses are interesting. It is a blessing the old relics are being protected.
L. Wdr will have a big time entertaining the little folk. You will be very watchful over the little ones in the water and on the beach.
Ruben has been very sick for a long time. He had a cancer removed. He survived that but never gained strength. Then he was stricken. In hospital with terrible pain. Kept him under sedation.
His funeral Thurs. chapel full. His grandson spoke. Beautiful service.
The children have gone home. Our first crop of hay is up. Verlene’s two nephews are helping. They do very well.
The day is dark and dismal. Strong wind.
