Dear children

Thank you for the lovely letter.

I am trying to make the grade. I am sure my sweetheart is active and we will be together again when I have crossed the bar. I have a hand full of memories. None will equal these happier. We'll be so happy if Helen and family can come down. I have the nurse if worst it is the one you saw. Why you are a busy school girl. I will get along all right.

It is not cold enough

for the electric blanket.

Oct 14 I go to Sam's home in Marble. You should have received this letter 20 days ago.

A lovely visit with Nettie.

The day is dark and dreary. It rains and the wind is sad and weary. The little birds are seeking a rest in our tall poplar trees. They have builded their nests.

It doesn't look like Reflie is home. He usually checks on me. Vim and Verlane are out North.

Adolph takes care of the cows here.

If I need help I call Blonda.

Waldo gave me some plums. Blonda helped me can them.

Now at last it is turning cold. I guess winter is headed this way. The school bus just pulled in.

I guess Marilee will come on a later one.

Our school house is used for a sewing center. Women from other towns come here.

Now they are making winter

jackets.

It is 16:30. I will try to finish this letter now.

I'm just called to see if I am all right.

If I need help when I'm away I call Blonda. She is a dear friend.

Not a sound or movement, just a few birds and butterflies and the bees falling leaves.

A lovely visit with Eva and Jay.

I sat feeling sorry for myself and wishing someone would come and there they came

I am trying hard

On this cold damp dismal day

To not let my spirits wander out of the way.

I have run out of news so I will just have to love and leave you.

Be well, stay happy,

I love you
